2. Nature of Service — Skill-Based Competition

WinFPL organises paid-entry competitions around the Official Fantasy Premier League (FPL), a free-to-play game operated by the Premier League at fantasy.premierleague.com. The key characteristics of our platform are as follows:

• Skill Determines Outcome: Contest results are determined entirely by each participant's knowledge of football, strategic team selection, captain choices, transfer decisions, and ongoing management of their fantasy team throughout the season. Chance plays no material role in determining winners.
• No Wagering or Betting: At no point do participants place bets on match outcomes, player performances, or any other uncertain event. There are no odds, spreads, point spreads, or bookmaking of any kind. Participants pay a fixed entry fee to join a competitive league and are ranked by cumulative points determined by real-world player performances as scored by the official FPL system.
• Consistent Skill Advantage: Skilled participants consistently outperform less experienced ones over time. This is evident in our seasonal leaderboard data, where knowledgeable managers regularly achieve top positions across multiple gameweeks — a hallmark of skill-based competition and a characteristic absent from games of chance.
• Active Participant Involvement: Unlike passive gambling products, WinFPL requires continuous, active decision-making by participants including team selection, transfer strategy, captaincy decisions, and bench management — throughout the competition period.
• Comparable to Other Skill-Based Competitions: WinFPL operates similarly to chess tournaments, trivia competitions, e-sports events, and other recognised skill-based contests that charge entry fees and distribute prizes to top performers.

3. Fantasy Premier League Disclaimer

WinFPL is an independent skill-based competition platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with the official Fantasy Premier League (FPL), the Premier League, or any of its member clubs. All team names, club logos, player names, and related data are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational and competitive scoring purposes only.

4. Eligibility

• Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in paid contests on WinFPL.
• Account Requirement: You must have a valid FPL account registered at fantasy.premierleague.com and join our designated private league.
• Geographical Availability: Our payment processing services are currently available to residents of Nigeria. Participation from other regions may be facilitated through alternative arrangements.

5. Contests, Scoring, and Prizes

WinFPL offers two categories of skill-based competitions:

5.1 Weekly Gameweek Contests

Participants pay a fixed entry fee to compete in individual Premier League gameweek contests. Scores are determined by the official FPL scoring system. The top-performing managers, as ranked by their gameweek score, receive prizes.

5.2 Seasonal Contest

Participants pay a one-time seasonal entry fee to compete across the entire Premier League season. Cumulative total points, as recorded by the official FPL system, determine the final seasonal rankings and prize distribution.

5.3 Prize Distribution

• Prizes: May include club jerseys, cash equivalents, or other rewards as described on the platform for each contest period.
• Tie-Breakers: In the event of a points tie, the official FPL tie-breaker rules (fewest transfers made) shall be the final authority.
• Verification: We reserve the right to verify winner identity and FPL account legitimacy before distributing any prize.

6. Payments, Fees, and Refunds

• Payment Processing: All financial transactions are processed securely through Paystack, a licensed and CBN-regulated payment processor in Nigeria. WinFPL does not store card details; all sensitive payment data is handled directly by Paystack's PCI-DSS compliant systems.
• Entry Fees: Entry fees for each contest type are clearly displayed on the platform before payment. Fees are fixed and non-negotiable.
• Deadlines: To be eligible for a specific Gameweek contest, your payment must be confirmed before the official FPL deadline for that gameweek.
• Late Entries: Payments confirmed after the deadline will be applied to the following Gameweek. No refunds are provided for late entries.
• Refund Policy: All entry fees are strictly non-refundable once payment has been verified or the relevant contest period has commenced.

7. Revenue Model

WinFPL's revenue is derived exclusively from entry fees collected for skill-based competitions. We do not operate as a bookmaker, accept wagers on sporting events, offer odds or spreads, or derive revenue from any form of gambling activity. A portion of collected entry fees is allocated to prize pools, with the remainder covering platform operations, payment processing, and development.

8. User Accounts and Integrity

Fair competition is the foundation of our platform. The following rules apply to all participants:

• Single Entry: Each individual is permitted only one team entry per contest period unless otherwise stated. Using multiple accounts, "proxy" teams, or any form of identity manipulation is strictly prohibited.
• FPL Compliance: Any manager found to be suspended or banned by the official Fantasy Premier League for cheating, collusion, or rule violations will be immediately disqualified from all WinFPL contests without refund.
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and OTP codes. WinFPL is not liable for unauthorised access resulting from your failure to secure your account.
• Accurate Information: You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and complete information during registration and payout setup. Providing false information may result in disqualification and forfeiture of prizes.

9. Intellectual Property

All original content on WinFPL, including but not limited to the platform design, branding, code, and written materials, is the intellectual property of WinFPL and its operators. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

WinFPL is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the platform's availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. WinFPL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or errors in the official FPL scoring system.

11. Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We also reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, particularly those related to payment fraud, contest manipulation, or misrepresentation.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
